Mountain Solitaire is a TriPeaks game set in the hills. It plays fast, rewards long chains and takes about five minutes a round.
How to play Mountain Solitaire
- Cards are laid out in overlapping peaks. Only cards with nothing on top of them can be played.
- Click a free card that is one higher or one lower than the open card at the bottom. It becomes the new open card.
- Keep the chain going as long as you can. When nothing fits, turn over a new open card from the stock.
- Clear every card from the peaks before the stock runs out to win the round.
Tip from the table
When two cards both fit, play the one that uncovers a face-down card. More open cards means more choices for the rest of the chain.

TriPeaks was invented in 1989 and became famous as one of the solitaire games bundled with Windows. Its speed and its streaks make it one of the most popular solitaire games online.
